No nurse should suffer in silence…
At the Anti Nurse Bullying Alliance (ANBA), we believe every nurse deserves to work in an environment built on respect, dignity, and support—not fear or intimidation. Bullying in nursing isn’t “just part of the job”—it’s a serious issue that harms patients, disrupts teams, and drives talented nurses away from the profession they love. Together, we can change that.
Join ANBA as we advocate for awareness, nurture safe workplaces, build stronger nursing communities, and advance the profession. Whether you’re a nurse, healthcare leader, or ally, your voice matters in this movement. Stand with us, speak out, and be part of the change.
Get involved today—because when nurses are supported, everyone wins.
What Is Nurse Bullying?
Bullying in nursing often looks like:
Verbal abuse – insulting, demeaning, or humiliating remarks
Exclusion or isolation – intentionally leaving someone out of communication, training, or opportunities
Undermining work – sabotaging or dismissing a nurse’s contributions or patient care efforts
Intimidation or threats – using fear or aggression to control or silence
Excessive criticism – unfairly targeting a nurse’s work or holding them to impossible standards
Horizontal violence – bullying between peers, often fueled by workplace stress or hierarchy
Nurse bullying is any form of repeated, harmful behavior that creates a hostile or unsafe work environment for nurses. It can come from colleagues, supervisors, or even within teams, and it undermines not only the well-being of nurses but also the quality of patient care.
At the Anti Nurse Bullying Alliance (ANBA), we believe no nurse should have to accept bullying as “part of the job.” By naming it clearly, we can begin to confront it—and ultimately, end it.
Our
Mision
The Anti Nurse Bullying Alliance (ANBA) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to confronting and ending bullying in the nursing profession. Our mission is to advocate for nurses, nurture safe workplaces, build stronger communities, and advance the profession through education, awareness, and collective action.
We believe that every nurse deserves to work in an environment free from fear, intimidation, or hostility. By amplifying the voices of those affected, providing resources and support, and engaging healthcare leaders in meaningful dialogue, we strive to create a culture of respect, collaboration, and accountability.
At ANBA, we are not just raising awareness—we are building a movement. Together, we can ensure that no nurse stands alone, and that future generations of nurses inherit a profession rooted in dignity and respect.
